Worried about 28 month old

I'm very concerned about my 28 month old son. His speech is late and now he tells me words like orange or banana but only as a label rather than I want one. He knows his numbers and alphabet.
He doesn't ask for things or wave/follow my gaze or pointing finger. His response to name being called is pretty absent as well.
I'm going to pay to see a paediatrician but want to know what I should do before then. I want to know what I should do to prepare.
I've started writing notes and taking videos of how he plays by pushing cars against his face while looking at wheels.
I want to make the most of the appointment.

Are you in the UK? Have you spoken to your health visitor about your concerns? When was his last review/when is the next one due?

I think your HV or GP is the best starting point.

He's not had his 2 year review because of covid. I wanted to see a speech therapist but that was also put on hold.

Hi just wondering if you have any updates? I’m worried about my 28 month old currently

@GrapePearPea yes I saw a paediatrician privately and he's now on the ASD pathway.
