Meea - I'm free this coming Friday.

(I'm spending time helping to set up a carer support group at the moment and this is the sort of thing we will be doing. You've helped me identify a need.)

meea, got that Family Fund form today so will pop in the post. Do you want me to photocopy DLA forms or paraphrase key things?!

Davros · 20/10/2004 21:47

Anyone could look at mine if I knew where the hell it was! In the attic somewhere, best place for it as found out the other day by looking at DLA letter that don't have to reapply until 2011!!!

dottee · 20/10/2004 23:09

Meea - no problem - whenever it's convenient for both of us - looking forward to your CAT

Dingle - it's very involving and that's why I'm falling behind with e-mails everyone - sorry.

The group's now got a constitution and the aims and objectives are: (cut and paste)

Our group has the following aims:

To provide a forum that will bring together parents/carers to share information and to support each other.

To work together to improve facilities for people with special needs in the area.

To promote the personal well being of all parents and carers.

To achieve a better range of services, facilities and opportunities for parents and carers and also for people with special educational needs.

To provide information and training for parents and carers.

To identity, secure and manage funding and other resources to achieve the above aims.

So we've got our work cut out!

Dottee, that sounds great! I'm trying to set up a special needs parent and toddler group at the moment. Not easy! Can I CAT you for advice?

jakbrown · 21/10/2004 08:29

ps meea, I meant Patients Trust form, not FAmily Fund!

Davros · 21/10/2004 09:15

Hi Dottee, I've been running a parent/carer support group for 5 years. If I can help with any ideas or you want to see our "Group Description" please CAT me.

dottee · 21/10/2004 09:33

Fantastic Davros - I'll be in touch with you.

You both will be helping me as I can use the communication as evidence in my course. Thank you.

meea · 21/10/2004 10:13
