Any help or advice welcome

So where do I start … partners DS has CP (he has a stammer and impacted mildly by cognitive impairment). He did not do well academically at primary school but the school was excellent with him and encouraged him as much as they could. He is a dear little boy who has a heart of gold and is funny. However he is due to go to secondary in September and my partner is worried about this. He is worried as his son does not mix well (he shies away from other boys), he has two friends, he does not go out of his house a lot (xbox), he suffers from frustration, he says inappropriate comments which offend, he is fearful of most situations, and other things. SENCO is involved at his new school. My partner wonders if all these things are due to his CP, or just his personality or both. Anybody any experience of this?

I should also mention his parents are no longer together and do not have a good relationship. So not a lot of capacity for co-parenting unfortunately

I'd advise talking to the SENCO at the new school to find out exactly how they are going to support him, if you feel he's going to find the transition difficult.
