night light

My 8 year old is getting nightmares because its too dark and I'm loathe to put a lamp out all night because it will get broken at some point! I'd also like it to still be quite muted light at night.

Does anyone have any good suggestions? Night lights are typically for babies and I never found a great option.

I have a couple of ideas. Red light is meant to be better for not waking that white light -- so you can get one of those colour changing dimmable bulbs that you control with an alexa and pick red and dim it right down to its lowest level.
Or get a small salt crystal lamp
Or just a standard red night light.

We have this for our 5 year old. I wasn’t sure to begin with as it seemed quite light, but actually it isn’t. It’s quite a soft light and helps him to sleep. We got it cheap from amazon.

We have an Aloka night light. You can get them on Amazon and there are quite a few different designs.

Alternatively, something like the Gresahom LED plug in might be a good option.

Thanks everyone. It doesnt have a plug in anywhere thats useful, I do have that red LED one as I agree about red light vs blue light.

Also no overhead light as the room is spotlights. Think our previous owners owned a spotlight company they're ugly and all over the house!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions Flowers

I think you can get clur changing spotlights - whether they fit your spotlight holes i dont know

Just to update I bought this on a whim. The kids keep it on red and they absolutely love it. My son has said that every night he's had it he's had zero nightmares.

Its really naff, has no instructions and almost impossible to work out how it works (you will think it is broken!!) But its exactly what we needed. It is cool to the touch.
