ASD - terrible mornings on waking?

Does anyone else experience this with their children? Dd is 9 and each morning has been awful recently, as soon as she wakes! Screaming, shouting, aggressive.

Sounds stupid but have you tried giving her a drink as soon as she wakes. We went through a similar phase with ds2 and his mood miraculously improved IF we could persuade him to have a drink (simply handing him a cup with no demands worked best). I think he was not at that age able to sense that he was thirsty and ended up dehydrated in the morning quite often and bad-tempered as a consequence. It also caused problems at school if they did not prompt him to have a drink regularly. .

yep food or drink asap. try what works for you. We had to separate children until one of them had eaten.
