Hey lovelies,

Just wondering how many went on to get adhd diagnosis also. I guess it doesn’t seem apparent at school, but we’ve always had suspicions of adhd. Assessed 4-5 years ago and ASD diagnosed eventually. Now camhs have said she sounds adhd and to have assessed again. Poss medication also.
I can see ocd traits too.

I'm also wondering about this. My DD already has an ASD and dyspraxia diagnosis. It's actually her who has queried whether she has ADHD after reading about it online (she's 13).

She very bad executive functioning difficulties despite being very bright. She struggles with concentration also, but isn't hyperactive (quite the opposite in fact).

Her poor executive functioning made secondary school almost impossible, despite being academically able. She just didn't have a clue what was going on a lot of the time. Although obviously her sensory and social comms difficulties contributed too. She dropped out at the beginning of year 8 (now in specialist).

I spoke to her paediatrician, and he said her executive function problems could be explained by her ASD and dyspraxia diagnosis, and wasn't concerned about ADHD. Its confusing as there is a lot of overlap in symptoms, and I'm not sure what the point of yet another diagnosis would be anyway, unless we wanted medication for her.
