DS Suspended

Just got a phone call from DS's school (mainstream) and told me to come and pick him up as he is being suspended for 1/2 day, for wounding another child. After talking to him turns out that some kid (2 years younger) grabbed him in a wrestling hold so that ds couldn't get away, so he bit him.

This kid has been tormenting ds for quite a while (even kicked him in the crotch once) but nothing done about other child. Not even told off this time. Am appealing it but don't hold out much hope as they all band together.

Advice anyone??

Definitely double standards - that is unbelievable. This sounds like a very serious communication breakdown and from first hand knowledge and being a MNer, it is something that goes on an alot.

Armed with this knowledge at your forthcoming meeting, this could backfire on them seriously.

Did you order in the Code of Practice CKC? Did you find anything of any use among all of that gobbledy gook? I think the C of P book in divided into sections for infant, junior or secondary education so it's not as daunting as it first appears, saying that I still haven't really looked at it yet! I've had it for a week or two.
