MY 4YR OLD IS DISPLAYING SIGNS OF ADHD(i think) violent outbursts/short attention span/violence towards everyone ( not just his parents who get a kick in the shin).can get very hyperactive and at times i dont want to take him anywhere .The school have commented on his lack of attention during the 2 hours that he goes there ,what the hell will happen when he starts full time!Mega tantrums that seem to be an association thing .could it be his diet or am i not being firm enough with him? to be honest he gets so bad that only blue murder would cure it( only joking)
He isnt like this all the time ! but does he have to be to have ADHD?NEW BABY IS DUE IN MAY so i need to sort this out .any suggestions?

Impossible to answer without meeting your son. But why don't you speak to your GP about it and see whether he thinks it would be worth a referral to a specialist?

When you say he isn't like this all the time? what time periods are you talking and how often.

Most children with ADHD will portray obvious signs much of the time. How about keeping a diary to see if there are any triggers eg food, lack of sleep, amount of activity in his day etc.
