Literally had the worst day

I have come on here to vent as I'm finding it so hard. My ds who is 10 and is asd had the mother of all meltdowns last night and violently attacked me which left me with 2 black eyes, bruises everywhere and a bloodied nose. Police came couldn't do anything so went away again. The lockdown has caused him to slip into obsessional behaviour and if you try and get him away from it he explodes. His older brother has gone to stay with family as he was triggering him so much. I just don't know what to do anymore he goes out every day but the lack of routine is killing him and me.

I'm so sorry. I hope you are having a better day today. Are you on the SEND VCB Facebook group? They are very supportive. You are not the only person who is having a tough time during lockdown and Sometimes it's reassuring to know others are going through something similar Thanks

@anyginplease Didn't want to read and run. How are you doing today? I have similar experience of being at the receiving end of these types behaviours. 💐 Support is here if you need it!

@anyginplease Glad you're feeling a bit better. Will the school be able to offer some support? Does your son have an EHCP? Is there an option for him to still go in to school?

anyginplease · 07/04/2020 23:14

Yes he has an EHCP luckily and his school says it's likely he will be able to attend so I will be so thankful when they get it up and running. Thank you so much for your kindness it helped me a lot to know I wasn't alone

How are you today?

anyginplease · 14/04/2020 17:14

We had a tricky week last week but Easter was calmer then I expected. His hub school starts this week which will help a lot. I used a water gun to distract him away when he starts falling into the obsessive loop which has worked very well so far lol
