"Born to be different" will be on again this week - anybody remember it?

I remember the little boy Hamish, the boy with dwarfism, from last time this was on, but I will obviously watch it with different eyes now that I have ds! Would love to see repeats of the old programmes actually!

o.k. it was hard hitting wasn't it. Those fantastic children and the strength they have. A mixture of emotions. Just makes me feel like I have nothing to complain about and I will remember to try and not get frustrated with Ds1 EVER EVER AGAIN!!!!

God how I cried

I am so in awe of these parents (esp. Shelbie's mum)

was crying tears of - I don't know what, not sadness - at seeing Hamish.

Hamish was magnificent! He was so brilliant on the assauly course -and winning his race. That school looked fab, didn't it? And his best friend's description of him. Priceless.
Wonderful programme.

chonky · 14/09/2007 08:49

Sorry - should have added that the were for William. Hamish was wonderful - I loved the part where his best friend said that they'd be besties forever

Dinosaur · 14/09/2007 11:05

I watched it and cried. I was in a very cry-ey mood though anyway. Still glad I watched it.

Blu · 14/09/2007 11:28

I cried when William kissed the scan photo of his unborn sister, when Hamish ran his race, and when Zoe's Mum had to hold her down to get the plaster off - and the look of terror on the child's face.
It was very uplifting too - and i really love the way that they show what has been talked of som much on the SN board recently - the uncoditional love parents feel fro children. Brilliant that they had such lovely coverage of Shelbie's Mum playing with her and engaging with her.

And such a hideous contrast to the children in the Bulgarian institute......
