ADHD and 6th Form

Hello, My DS will be entering 6th form in September. He is very bright, but struggles with the GCSE workload because of the ADHD for a variety of reasons. He is disorganised, forgets assignments, procrastinates particularly with writing essays, and has a difficult time buckling down to revision. His grades are good enough to get into a fairly decent 6th form school, and he is keen to do A Levels. I am concerned about how he will cope with the more intensive workload at A Level. Does anyone have experience and advice with this?

Can he access Learning Support? Can you meet the Senco at potential sixth form and ask what mentoring might be available to help him manage the workload. Does he already have Access Arrangements for exams - extra time, laptop user etc

Yes DS has extra time for exams. He has already received several conditional offers at local 6th forms (contingent upon getting the required grades), but I'm hesitant to emphasise the ADHD too much with the new schools in case they decide that they don't want to take him on. One of things that I'm concerned about is whether he'll be able to contend with all of the independent, self-initiated work at 6th form since so far at least, it's been difficult for him to organise and focus on revising and doing essay writing.
