Subject access request for health records

I have requested copies of my DD's health records relating mainly to CAMHS and developmental paediatrics.

They have omitted several documents including letters from my DDs school. They say they can't provide these and this information belongs to the school, even though they have copies scanned onto their system.

Does anyone know is this is correct?

I've tried googling it but I'm getting nowhere.

Can you approach the school directly for those letters?

I don't think that matters, schools have a lot of correspondence about their pupils. I don't know if that travels from school to school with the pupil, or whether it's held at each different school they attend.

It's worthwhile asking each school and cite GDPR. Your DD (you as advocate) has every right to access any information held about her.
Schools have to keep their pupils' records for over 20 years IIRC.

But I dont want to make unnecessary requests to schools. All this takes so much time.

I have already requested her records from health, I just want to know if they are correct in saying they cant send me the stuff they've omitted. Because my understanding is they have to send everything they hold.

I think they can refuse on the basis that it is 3rd party data. Local authorities do this when you do a SAR; not providing you with information that schools have sent to them.
