Help with carers allowance

I'm not sure if I've gotten any of this right but if anyone can advise I'd be very grateful!

I'm about to start a new job and will take home after tax about £1500

DH is studying part time and is also self employed, earning about 6000 a year, however he might make £1000 one month and £300 the next. It totally varies.

DS receives DLA with low rate mobility and high rate care. Is DH eligible to claim carers allowance? And how does it work with him earning nothing one week and way over the threshold another week? In a year, it averages out as less than the specified £123 a week.

they will take an average, the amount you can earn per week is going up as of April to £128 ( I think), But it is best to phone them and explain what’s going on as they may just stop it if your partner is over the threshold.
