Does anyone have experience with RAPT/BPVS tests?

My son is turning 5 next month and has a communication delay but no diagnosis (yet).

He's doing fine in reception with reading and writing but is quite a bit behind in terms of communication compared to his peers.

This weekend we had him assessed by a private SALT and she did these 2 tests with him.

On the BPAS (British Picture Vocabulary Scales) he scored on the 34th centile for his age so not too bad and within an age appropriate range.

However on the RAPT (Renfrew Action Picture Test) he scored very poorly and is still at the Level 1 questions.

The SALT thinks he has trouble pulling words and has difficulty organising language. He will be starting speech therapy and we are liasing with the school to get him extra support as well.

I was wondering if anyone had a child with these issues and what was their prognosis? Thank you

Coming on to reply as no one else has come along. You might get more replies if you had a more generic title. Maybe no one knows what the tests are.
I think my gd has had the first not sure about the second. But quite likely although any speech therapy appointments have been assessing her.
I’m not sure what you mean about difficulty pulling words.
My gd has some issues about word recall and sentence construction but is currently on asd pathway, she’s very slightly younger than your son, but not yet in reception.
