EHC plans, quick question

Just applying for an assessment for a plan. My son is on a three year waiting list for an ASD assessment and also has diagnosed dyspraxia, and suspected dyslexia. I suspect he has issues such as slow reading, writing, processing speed, and many other cognitive issues that means his attainment is lower than his potential.

Can I request the Local authority provide an assessment from an educational psychologist as part of clarifying and defining his support needs?

If they agree to the assessment (that is what you are applying for - to be assessed the EHCP is only granted based on this) so yes they will do just that.

Thank you Lanbury! Smile

4cats, similar profile to our DS. We are almost at point of decent final draft (I hope) so if you need a heads up feel free to message. Happy to help with wording and process of it all. It can take time - marathon rather than sprint. We began in Spring last year!
