My son suffers from severe anxiety when attending hospital appointments, so much so that I can get him to the waiting room but no further. He has global development delay, adhd, autism and a curved spine amongst other things. His scoliosis is severe but does not affect his general health so I am content to let it be at the moment, his social worker does not agree and seems to think I am not trying hard enough. She is insistant that he needs spinal surgery even though his ed psych says how damaging it would be for his mental well-being. During a home visit I tried to explain how difficult it can be to get him out of the house even to do something he wants and that even my husband had smacked him the other day trying to get his shoes on.
She phoned me 20 mins later to say that she has reported us to child protection and that I needed to protect my child from harm, if I was finding this difficult then she could arrange something.
My husband is distraught and can barely talk to me, my other children are volunteering in Air Cadets and are afraid that they will be dismissed. I am so upset I can't stop crying.

I can't help for most of that, but I don't see why it would affect your other childrens' positions as air cadets.

Because they have to report family troubles, however I gave been in touch with social services and they have advised that it will go no further as it was more a tap than a smack.

They are uniform staff/instructors and might have had to stand down should there have been an investigation
