I have posted before about my daughter. She’s 8 years old and has autism. She is in a mainstream primary school and has an ehcp and full 1:1 support.
Things have gone down hill rapidly within the last year. She’s been excluded a couple of times. Since being at the school she has had countless new Members of staff working with her as her 1:1 I literally couldn’t tell you how many as I’ve lost count. But they never seem to stick more than a few months and I’m starting to find it very frustrating. Honestly there’s been at least 20 new people and the latest one was meant to be working with her long term but now after 2 months I was randomly approached by the senco to say they were changing the staff member again as “it wasn’t working out” they are very vague on the reasons. How often are these 1:1s meant to change?! My daughter doesn’t like change and struggles with the inconsistency, tbh I just feel like they are trying to force her out of the school. That is how it feels. I wanted her to stay in mainstream but it seems that isn’t possible. I don’t know what to do for the best. They can’t seem to find anyone to work with her consistently and I’m not sure why, they keep changing them over despite saying they will be working with her permanently.
