My son of 16 with ADHD & ODD has just been awarded pip but is insisting it gets paid to him. He does not manage money as since April the dla has been paid to him and the whole amount(319) is spent that day on inappropriate things, cigarretes, cannabis and food. He only lives for the day and does not keep anything for the next four weeks to pay for stuff he needs. I need advice as to where to go to get him support to manage his money. Neither myself or his dad want to be his appointee as it would cause arguments at home (we have enough of those already) and he would accuse us of trying to steal his money so would prefer someone in dependant. Any ideas please.
