my dd has an adhd diagnosis. Im not happy with the current level of support. .. she has multiple issues that are affecting her school life and we are seen every 8 months for only a 5 minute appt. With her being on medication as well and needing to discuss/tweak the meds, the appointments are too far apart and we are rushed through them. Im not blaming the consultant as he just has too many kids on his list and is over stretched!!
I have heard of people going private to get a diagnosis and then transferring to the NHS for treatment, but not vice versa. i would be interested in private treatment - I just don't know how to go about this or what I would be searching for? Psychologists? Psychiatrists? Even a decent 30 minute appointment every 6 months would be much better. If anyone has experience please could you share
