THIS WEBSITEhas its good and bad points. it could help people who have been refused with their appeal etc.
it lists many disabilities... including ADHD, Aspergers, ASD etc....as well as physicall disabilities.
it gives a description of what THEY consider to be the way this disability presents and affects the child's life.
for me this is useful, as it is an insight into what i believe is the DLA's way of thinking. You know the DECISION_MAKERS that decide whether we do or don't get DLA.
so ...for me , reading that they consider something NOT to be a mobility/care issue...maybe with ADHD or eating problems...when in my experience of ADHD/AS IT BLOODY WELL IS!....makes me more detailed and precise in how i describe it on the form.
...whereas we are all aware we have to 'compare' our child to what is 'normal' for the age...i feel we now need to compare throughout the spectrum of disability..... so shattering what idea they have of living with ASD etc.
i hope this helps someone.
