ADOS assessments - any experience?

My 5yo DS is having an ADOS assessment next week and we really don't know what to expect. If anyone feels able to share their experience, I'd be so grateful. I'd particularly like to know if parents are in the room - if not, I could do with prepping him for that. (He's normally quite gregarious but me and DH have both had health issues this year so he's more sensitive to us not being around than normal).

Thank you.

My daughter (7) had her ADOS last week and we were in a different room from her the whole time. We didn’t expect that and if we had known would have prepped her for that but she coped ok

We were in the room when our daughter had hers. She'd just turned four.

Worth phoning up to ask. You'd think they'd tell you, knowing that autistic people get anxious about new situations, but ours didn't either and we had to phone!

DD enjoyed hers. Lots of play including fun stuff like bubbles.

We weren't on the room with our 8yr old, he wasn't prepared for that but actually went along with it and engaged well.
