Hi i've got a 3.8 dd who has always been challenging!!! She is quite aggressive at times with hitting and gets frustrated very quickly. On the other hand she's very clever and can read like an 8 yr old. Her preschool have had SENCO observing her as she doesnt display appropriate behaviour in terms of when it comes to snack time etc she wouldnt sit down with the others and would ahve a meltdown as they call it. This happened at various different times./ They have now referred her to SALT and we are waiting an appointment. They think she's got so much goin gon in her head that she sometimes has a problem processing language and that causes the meltdown. Also she goes through times where she gets very upset (not angry) at certain words or names. Generally if a certain cartoon character or anything and she doesnt want you to say the name of it. She's also going through a phase where every thing she says is to contradict you and its almost with anything you say - not necessary to cause an argument but say the opposite. Just wondered if this was anything you had come across and whether you think SALT will help her. She has a year before she goes to school and obviusly i'm keen to get her some help as soon as possible. Thanks
