Hi everyone,

My ASD stepdaughter (14) keeps stealing money to buy food and lip balm. It’s been going on for around 2 years and we have tried everything we could think of to stop her. We lock money away wherever we can, hide it, we stopped giving her pocket money. We explained why it was wrong, we explained she could get arrested, we took her to the police station, we made her do our version of community service (gardening and cleaning). We’ve confiscated the things she bought, we’ve confiscated other stuff like her ipad for short periods. Literally at our wits end at this point over what to do... has anyone got any ideas? She’s just done it again - stole £30 from her Nan (went rocking through nan’s cupboards to find it). Before this she’s stolen £10,20 notes from her Nan, her dad and mum. Sometimes it’s £10-15 and the most has been £60 in one go.
