Tinsley House

Has anyone done Tinsley House with their child recently? I’ve searched and seen there was a lot of chat about it many years ago but wondered if anyone had done it recently and whether it helped your child?

Hi there. Yes, we have been going to Tinsley House for the last 7 months. I am please with the progress from what I can see at home. However, an ultimate feedback for me will be from the school.
We are due to have a meeting with the school in 2 weeks time and it will become clearer if there is a progress academically.

Have you started with Tinsley House or just contemplating where to go? How old is your child?

Of course I will remember!
I found information from mumsnet so invaluable, and without it, I would have not done half of the therapies I did with my son.
All the therapies have helped. However, what helped the most is the cumulative effect of doing all these different therapies!

We have had our meeting and the feedback from the school.
In Year 1 there was a talk about putting my son back a year, and about increasing his TA’s support to almost full time level.
Fast forward to now (Yr 3) the school are pleased with my son’s progress to the point that he does not need to be on the SEN register. Such good news!

We have done several therapies over the years: Occupational therapy, Auditory Integration Therapy (AIT), Vision Therapy and Tinsley House.
I cannot say which therapy had the most effect. We have seen incremental effects with all of them.

Oh wow that’s great improvement thanks for the update...that does give me some hope! I think we are going to go for tinsley house once we have finished our current therapies.
