My nephew has an EHCP due to mental health difficulties and related anxiety. He is now in his A level Year but has hardly attended school this year as he is too anxious. During a recent TAC meeting home tutoring was suggested but this would mean he would be taken off role. His parents are keen to keep him at school as he has no social contact at the moment. It has been agreed to take him back a year and I think they need to fight to keep him in school. What would be his entitlement in terms of support to get him back into school? I think their first question is how is the personal budget being used by the school (he’s only been in school for two terms out of six for 6th form)?
