Hi mums,
My 7 year old DS with DCD and possible SPD has always had problems falling asleep (since birth).
I'm at wits ends.
We've tried everything but last night and many nights before he went to sleep just before 23.00.
I made him a weighed blanket. He goes to bed at 20.30 with an audiobook. But now the 1.30 hour story won't suffice and he needs to start another one, and the sleep won't come. I started turning the stories off at 22.00 now and he has started crying in his bed and says he can't fall asleep.
He's very active. Yesterday for example, we went to the beach for the day. He had: bouncy castle, walking and running around, playing on beach with friends, play park. I was tired! Not him.
He never really seems tired, even if he sleeps 8 or 9 hours max most nights.
My husband and I really don't get time off him and 23.00 doesn't seem like a sensible time to go to bed for a 7 year old.
Any suggestions?
