Autism is not a learning disability

Just that really.
To be identified as having a learning disability your IQ must be below 70.
Some autistic people have learning disabilities but not all.
Also, it is not a specific learning difficulty, as it doesn't directly affect a persons ability to learn, like dyslexia or dyscalculia does.
It is a developmental condition.
The above phrases seem to get interchanged quite often and the insistence of some people in continuing to label us as learning disabled is insulting and makes life harder. So please stop.
