schools for "high-functioning" girls?

Secondary ones, North London, daughter is 9, very very sensitive and academically very able.

Recently diagnosed with ASD.

We still have a couple of years time but starting my research early.

Are you looking for private or state?
We are a few years behind you (DD still in reception) but it looks like we may be wanting something similar, so following with interest!

Ideally state, but considering private.

The Bridge Satellite is I think going to go to secondary age in time. Actually dd told me that they have a unit at Highgate Hill yesterday, so maybe it already exists? And is aimed at kids able to manage the national curriculum but unable to manage in mainstream.

Also, we're too little to have looked at it properly, but Acland Burghley has an ASD hub. Seems like a nice school.

One that we are looking into for later is North Bridge House. They have two secondary schools - one in Hampstead and one in Canonbury. The Canonbury bit is quite small: single form entry I think, so I hope not too overwhelming (although I'm not sure it has any SEN experience it seems very student-centred with plenty of extra-curricular and not a hot house). the Hampstead bit is bigger (and they do share some teachers and resources, so both schools get a bit of benefit of the larger scale).

My friend's DS goes to the Hampstead one after having some bullying/wrong crowd problems at his previous school and is very happy with it, and I have another friend of a friend who sent his son with SN to the junior bit of the school and really liked that too. So I'm hoping it will be more generally supportive of SN.

As I said, we are pretty early on our journey so aren't doing too much research until we understand DD's needs better - but may be worth looking into if it is convenient for you and private is a possibility.
