I am thinking about applying for DLA for DS and just wondering if it will mean my CTC is affected and I will be asked to claim UC?
I will be significantly worse off on UC so do not wish to move until forced!

Not sure if you've found your answer but it wouldn't. DLA isn't a means tested benefit

DLA doesn't have to affect your CTC.

It's not your income, it's income for your son, so doesn't have to be declared. HMRC (tax credits) won't automatically be told of a DLA award.

However depending on the DLA award, you might be entitled to a disability premium on the CTC = extra money. So you might want to let HMRC know of the award ...
