For those with an EHCP

Does anyone use the personal budget part of the EHCP, and what do you use it for? During our annual reviews, the school skims over that part and has never properly explained what it's for, but another parent once told me you could use it for individual therapies - is that outside school?

If you go to page 178 of the below document it explains what a personal budget is and what it can be used for. My ds receives a personal budget via a direct payment for social care and sees a private specialist speech and language therapist who is also part of our personal budget.
