Computer at School.

My son is 11 and had a ASD diagnosis a few years ago. He recently started a mainstream secondary school and is managing to cross busy roads, catch a bus and get to school on time which is a great achievement. He is hypermobile and despite lots of effort his handwriting is very poor, at home he does work on the computer and it presents really well compared to his school work. Unfortunately he refuses to use a laptop at school so his work is barely legible and he struggles to take adequate notes and reminders. The transition to secondary school was huge so we haven't pressured him but his results would really improve if he used a laptop. Does anyone have any ideas how we could encourage him to use a computer at school?

He probably doesn’t want to use it if it’s not what everyone else uses. Have a chat with the school Senco and see if they can offer internal support

Has he had ot support to help his writing?

Would typing on an iPad be easier for him?
