I don’t know how else to describe it, and I’m not sure if it’s worth mentioning when we have our next appointment or if I will look ridiculous.

My son (20 months, currently being assessed and awaiting another appointment) is constantly fiddling things (toggles on hoodies, bra straps, the edge of your clothes, buckled on his car seat etc).

Is this a “thing”? Is it unusual or do all children do it and I just haven’t noticed? I’ve tried to give him something else like a blanket with ribbons or teddies with tassels and they don’t seem to hold the same attraction for him!

Thank you in advance :)

Yes it's normal, there's many different fidget toys you can get to help, like the tangle toy or theraputty etc. Try searching for sensory/fidget toys :)
