just re doing my letters for DLA.
since i asked for a reconsideration back in Feb (we got the decision 2 weeks ago they said no) i have a letter from the NHS confirming Ds DX, and also i didnt put in any of the appendices from his statement, the one from OT says about him needing to be restrained (i hate that word ) and needing help with bathing etc, can i use appendices like that from a statement?
i cannot put any more than i already did cos i used the cerebra guide and spent days filling it in.

TIA

Hi Jenk1
I'm an OT and fill out a lot of DLA forms!!! BOO!
They are SUCH a pain I know esp when they get rejected!
Have you tried CAB? Long shot I know!
Yes you can use appendices btw
Have you got a social worker? They can give guidance on DLA form filling too!

sorry to hijack
i have been waiting 9 weeks nows for them to review ds claim is it a good or bad sign to have to wait the full time.. thay say if you not heard anything by 11 weeks then get in touch but i got a letter a couple of weeks ago saying they are sorry they have not made a decision yet but will be in touch..

Hi bubble
its not really an indication at all I'm afraid I know up here theres an 8 week delay on top of the usual time roe reviews as they are majorly backlogged!

I have just filled my sons DLA form out and sent it back to them, the problem is i have only filled out the mobility low rate as i wasnt sure if i could get the high rate, he has Autisim and is only 3, hes always in his pram as he runs everywhere and touches car wheels and is a danger to himself, on public transport he has to be in his pram also as he struggles and he pulls other peoples hair and gets very frustrated and aggressive to me, my Q is, can i apply for the high rate after i get the low rate or should i have done it befor sending in the form???

SHELL Im fairly sure that you cant get low rate mobility for 3y/o's, only 5yrs. You can however be entitled to high for 3y/o's.

To recap: 5y/o's can get high or low, but 3y/o's can only get high (if they are eligible).

My original app took 17wks! I am in the process of applying for mobility part for my 3y/o as have already been awarded the care part. Anyone know if this takes just as long?

Jenk, what have they turned you down for/ awarded?

misscutandstick our application went in June last year and is still ongoing. We are taking it to tribunal though.
