How to help adhd child with class work?

My son has adhd and is really struggling to complete his school work in lesson times. He’s an intelligent boy but finds it hard to transfer what’s in his head to the paper.

Any ideas or tips on what can be done to help him?

pocket book adhd and 100 ideas book on adhd both will have great ideas. I have used these series for dyslexia and dyspraxia. ADD is next on my list, as my DS has 5 min attention span and very distracted, just awaiting ed psych report. Does yours use things like mind maps or any IT to catch his thoughts?
