Hi, i have received my son's first speech and language report and I'm unsure about what they mean in their summary. They have said DS will be reviewed in Feb and then referred to pre-school assessment and long term team.
Does anyone know what this means? I am new to all this!
Thank you

It looks as though they've identified an area or more than one where he needs some support, read the whole thing to see what that/they are but don't post it on here.

He will be reviewed in February to see if there has been any change.

After that he will be referred for a preschool assessment presumably to identify his specific needs.

Then he will be kept an eye on at intervals by the long term team who will check on his progress.

Thank you for your response, just this mean he will be receiving actual sessions of speech therapy, or just reviewed now and then .

I think it's a bit of a postcode lottery but expect very little speech therapy and be prepared to fight tooth and nail. Unfortunately speech and language services have been massively cut over the last 30? years by both governments. Learn as much as you can about strategies you can use at home.
