Hi guys....

8 year old son got diagnosed at 4 years old with ADHD....
Only now I have decided to apply for DLA for him.

The thought of filling in a long form to get rejected- gives me anxiety!

I understand the basic information to include but what else would I comment on to support my claim?
I can send all reports in from DR etc.
Son is still in bedtime pants...so I'm up once or twice a nice replacing them
No sense of danger, etc etc.

What general stuff can I include to support my claim?

ALSO waiting for ASD diagnosis....should we wait for the ASD diagnosis before applying? That could take months and months?

Thanks guys xxxx

Don’t wait for the diagnosis. You don’t need any diagnosis to claim dla - we were awarded high rate dla when ds was 2.5 years old based only on a doctors referral to a paediatrician, he hadn’t even seen one at that point).

Google the cerebra dla guide and use that to do the form. It takes you through it step by step. Write lots for each question, explain everything as if the person reading it has no medical knowledge at all (they don’t). Aim to write at least a paragraph for each question.

Include any reports or supporting statements you can.
