For starters the developmental paed didnt bother to turn up.
Her colleague paed chaired the meeting.
He was very rude and arrogant.
He was very dismissive of what me and Dave were saying.
The SLT said to him "THESE PARENTS HAVE CONERNS AND A RIGHT TO BE LISTENED TO"
he begrudgeingly let us speak then told us to take our concerns up with nursery.
He tried to discharge us on to the hospital that we dont want we said NO, he said it will be easier
The PHYSIO Said to him "PARENTS HAVE A RIGHT TO CHOOSE THEIR CHILDS HOSPITAL"
then another paed who was there started arguing with the SLT over how long it takes for reports from
SLT to come through.
We just sat there looking at ourselves in amazement.
Toilet training problems?- Take that up with your health visitor
Behavioural problems, routines etc ASD traits - we,ve already discussed that see your nursery
Anythiing else?
right we have another review now.

our health visitor was shocked, she said she is going to nursery to ask them what they intend to do about R,s problems.
what a nightmare.
is this normal for a review by the way to not be able to speak and have a say in your childs developmental issues?

What an arrogant man. How miserable for you to have such an awful meeting with what sounds like no one prepared to offer you anything useful.
the continence nurse who visited us when we were referred for nappies had a really useful leaflet about toilet training and children with special needs, the NAS website has some useful stuff.
Mind you, sounds as though you at least talk with your health visitor, can't stand mine and refused to have her at our family meeting.

oh dear, sounds a bit pointless if you can't input. And for the SLT and Physio to be speaking up in your favour in front of you, the paed must have been AWFUL.
