Is it legal to put a pupil with SEN into internal isolation for 6 weeks? Mainstream

I couldn't say but the national autistic society suggest that it should be in the schools behaviour policy and applied in the way the policy says (I doubt it says 6 weeks in there, it probably says remove from classroom for an afternoon/day)

That sounds terrible. Did you get any further. Have you spoken to IPSEA for their guidance?

Highly likely to be illegal. Children are entitled to full time education and the full national curriculum, and I strongly suspect the child in question is getting neither. Likewise if they have an EHCP, they probably aren't meeting the terms of section F. It also sounds as disability discrimination could be in the mix as well.

I feel that the NAS haven’t been much help there. 6 weeks of internal exclusion for what exactly?
