I've just spotted this:

There She Goes
BBC4 10pm - 10.30pm
First of a 5-part series, starting today - 16.10.18.
1/5 - One Day in the Life of Rosie Yates: It's a typical Saturday for 9-year old Rosie, who has a severe learning disability.

I'll be watching - if possible! Anyone joining me?

Hazeyboy has had every nutricia fortified shake, juice, pudding etc....well I say 'had'...that should say tried and rejected or won't even go near. The dietician conceded today that we're on a hiding to nothing with prescription foods/drinks so she is trying to think if any way we can bulk up fats and dairy. They weren't worried for quite a long time, but he hasn't really grown - height or weight, in the last 2 years, so he is now under the bottom centile lines for both.

AamdC · 28/11/2018 19:01

Ds hasent grown much inbthe past couple of years but hes on the 25th centile for height and 50th for weight its a worry as well as everything else!

Hello everyone. Sorry for the slow reply, but life has unfortunately got in the way, as most of you will understand all too well.

It took me a couple of Tuesdays to get out of the There She Goes groove, and I still quite miss it.

I'm going to ask MNHQ if they'll kindly move the thread over, so it doesn't disappear completely.

Wishing all the There She Goers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and all the very best for 2019GinWineCakeFlowers[nakedtrampoliningemoji] Xmas Wink

PS If the thread disappears at some point in the near future, it will hopefully be in SN Children, but feel free to add to it here for now - it would be lovely to hear how everyone is doing. Brew

Oh great to hear from you again, and your news, (apart from the tech issues). I wonder if this is the start of something with your DS - whether he'll start to like other programmes or whether ITNG is a one minute wonder?! WB loved ITNG for quite some time. He still likes it, but his tastes have broadened out quite a bit since, including to things like the Teletubbies. At the moment it's The Snowman, The Snowman and the Snowdog, Father Christmas, and Spot's Magical Christmas. They were things I used to help him understand Christmas, and they stuck, and now he enjoys them. It's tough, isn't it, just normally, making sure they're ok, and the rest of the family too, and somehow now managing to do all the extra Christmas involves on top? Some sleep would be good! Clothes still on here, but the night, Christmas and the holidays are young! Xmas Wink

X2boys, that's so great, we have VM so will check it out! The nakedness made me giggle. Ds is usually trouser free but manages to keep a top on.

The snowman is a big hit here too wonder. Currently Ds is back in a finding Nemo stage. Also having always hated any of us singing he's currently massively into nursery rhymes. Particularly Bob the train on you tube which drives me nuts but at least it's educational.

We had some family over to ours yesterday to swap some presents and ds spent most of the time hiding in the cupboard. He seemed happy enough otherwise.

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas!

Here's hoping that everyone has managed at least a moment or two of joy this Christmas - and hopefully more than that! Xmas Smile

Trousers seem optional here too, liv! I haven't seen Bob the train, but about the Snowman - I found a magazine in the supermarket, which came with little Snowman, Snowdog and Christmas tree figures, which is proving to be a big hit from WB's stocking. Nursery rhymes have to be sung here too - I need to make a recording for those times when I've got a sore throat or am just too tired. Your hiding in a cupboard story made me smile, and remember a similar situation when WB hid in the nursery squashed in the cot aged about 6 or 7!

I listened to a BBC ouch podcast with the writer and another dad who made a documentary on microcephaly. Was a good listen.

Thank you, Anya. Smile

A warm welcome awaits for all returning pps on the thread, and newcomers are welcome too - all we ask is that you have watched all or some of There She Goes, have a similarly disabled close family member, and can identify with Rosie and her family.

We have BrewGinWineCake and [nakedtrampoliningemoji] Wink

Yay!

Hello TSGers - hope you all had suitably chaos and wine filled Christmases.

Highlight of ours was Hazeyboy clearing a whole shelf of Durex in Boots whilst sitting in his buggy (on dh's watch....hence the highlight)

Lowlight was Hazeyboy breaking the kitchen tap forgetting that it is a turny tap not one you turn it on by bashing it repeatedly until it snaps and water shoots into the air (....my watch)

Just preparing for In Hazeyboy's endoscopy tomorrow and absolutely shitting it.

So glad to see this thread pop up.

WonderBoy · 03/01/2019 21:29

Glad to see you've made it over, hazey!

Your highlight and lowlight made me laugh - with, not at, of course! WineWine

No wine here, but plenty of gin, mince pies, Christmas cake, cheese and chocolate, and just enough champagne, although too much chaos as ever.

Thinking of you all tonight, and tomorrow. Do let us know how it goes, if you feel able. Flowers
