arrange pre-starting visits...plenty of those!
get a named person (other than teacher) who child/you can refer to.

if something like ASD etc...maybe ask for photoes of school and activities- so can make a picture board at home to prepare child???

Agree with ClutterJunkie. There will be lots of discussion too about things like what will happen at lunchtimes, breaks, school assemblies and also talking about which strategies wil work best for your ds, eg visual timetables, social stories, somewhere to calm down etc.

thanks ladies he is going to a special needs school so the break times etc is ok but the idea for pre starting visits is a good one i will make sure that is mentioned. and he is using a picture board at play school so the photos of the school and activities etc is a good idea too
thanks all

let us know how the meeting goes.

(glad my ideas helped...i always feel a bit out of my depth with pre-schoolers....as none of my boys were noted as SEN till at school...however....ds2 and 3 i knew were SEN before they started school!!!!)
