I’ve heard this also, passed from HV’s mouth and portage years ago.
My son has lots of singular words but no conversational speech just repeats cartoon scenes in a quick garbled manner only recognisable by me really, but I refuse to believe his speech stops at this point. Learning doesn’t, so why should speech? But I’ll admit those words ring in my ear too but never give up hope. Learning doesn’t stop ever. And speech is no exception.

Thanks Zzz just what I need to hear to motivate me through the holidays.
ilovesprouts If we look back on the year there will be progress we can see, let that motivate us.

Definitely not true. DS2 started talking at 8. He's 12 now and fairly understandable though still has some mispronounciations such as "hairy yak sicks" for tying his hair back off his face, at school 😂 He scripts constantly, can ask for things he needs and will tell me about things he's done in his own sweet way.

Sometimes he'll talk at us so relentlessly that we wish he would stfu for 5 minutes!

T'other one is pretty much mute, now, mind. He doesn't even yell at Ds2 anymore.
