Adderall for inattentive ADHD

Has anyone any experience of using adderall for inattentive ADHD? My 9 year old has just been diagnosed and recommended this as the first drug to try when she returns to school in September. I recognize that she needs something as the issues are getting worse as she progresses through school. But my initial reactions when I look up adderall is to feel quite scared given that it is highly addictive and are we setting her up with a drug addiction later in life! Any thought welcome.

I don’t have experience of Adderall, but do have experience of having to give benzodiazepines, which are addictive and horrible to wean!

It’s like all drugs - drs have suggested it because the benefits outweigh the side effects/risks!

Oh and have watched withdrawal off SSRIs, which may not be “addictive”, but withdrawal is still very difficult!
