dd loves it, she sat in it and let us push her around the house then she put her new dolly in it and pushed her around.

its metallic purple and she calls it "chair".

i said to dh i dont think i can push her to nursery in it, for one i can just see the senco,s face as she is a good friend of the HV who said some nasty things about dd and the wheelchair and the other thing is ive known its been coming but now its here its a very visual reminder of how dd is.
he said he doesnt care and he WILL push her around in it and if anyone dares look, but im not as brave as him. maybe i will be in time.

Ds has a wheelchair, but only uses it for distances. I don't care what people thing TBH

thing-think

i know i should feel the same, i want to feel the same as dh and you do im just being a wuss, its cos of what the hv said to me i think.

dd will probably only use hers for long distances as she can walk short distances and around the house fine.

your HV is a cow, she has no right to say what she said (had to search your threads to find out what she had said)
One GP told me that DS was 'very mild' I turned round and said 'actually he has modarate asymetic spastic diplegia CP with hypermobile joints, he is far from 'mild'
And I asked my consulant to refer us to the SN HV as my HV wasn't very clued up on SNs and my HV told the SN HV not to bother and I didn;t need her

normal feelings Jenk1. everyone and i mean everyone i have know at dd's school went through this stage. all of a sudden you have the wheelchair and you realise.......shit this is it.
it does get easier. It took me ages to get my head round a wheelchair. tbh once you start using it you will get used to it really quick. people do look and sometimes stare. but they would do that anyway because your dd is so beautiful,
The hv wants a slap.. report her and ask for a new one.

jenk1 · 22/05/2007 22:51

DH reported her and we are waiting for the "investigation outcome" which will probably be that her comments were not meant to be hurtful, but we do have a nice new hv, she,s lovely.
