I’m hoping someone can offer me some form of advise as im unaware where to turn next
So here goes

My daughter is 14 and suffers with Prader- Willi syndrome she attends mainstream secondary school has a full statement 30 hours a week extra support our daughter has been at this school since September 2017 , all was going well until a few weeks ago .
Today I recieved a phone call telling me that she had been seen going through a teachers bag which was left on the desk at lunchtime and that she had been given an immediate 5 day exclusion !! I no way except this is the way our daughter should be behaving at school but we’ve provided twice now paperwork that states children with pws will seak food anyway they can
Am I wrong saying that 5 days exclusion is to much

Many thanks

I know very little about pws but would have thought the teacher shouldn’t have left her bag unsupervised if she knew the info given. 5 day exclusion sounds very disproportionate.

I think exclusion full stop is unreasonable. She has a disability and you have made them fully aware of it. They need to make reasonable adjustments, ie make all staff fully aware of the way PWS manifests itself, and tell them to keep their bags and anything else that may contain food in a locked cupboard.

What reason have they given for exclusion on the letter?
