OT in school

My son is 6 with autism and lots of sensory issues. He’s got an EHCP and the LA have finally agreed to direct 1:1 OT for him. We’re looking at moving schools from mainstream to specialist as his mainstream have admitted they can’t meet his needs. Has anyone got any experience in specialist as to whether the LA can and do provide OT? We’ve anecdotally heard they are so short of OT’s that kids just don’t get the OT even if it’s in the EHCP. We’re in Surrey. So grateful for any advice TIA

My son attends a specialist school and has 1:1 OT once a week funded by LA (via EHCP) the OT is part of the core staff of the school. She sees a few kids routinely. Specialist schools generally have various therapists available as part of their staff, whether it be OT, SALT, specialist teachers etc
