I can hardly believe it but my ds who is 81/2 and has autism has a friend over to stay tonight!!!!!!!!He has taken up with a boy who moved in round the corner and they have been inseparable since they met 3 weeks ago, anyway the said new friend is wonderful for DS and is staying over tonight, they have watched cheaper by the dozen with big bowls of sweeties and have now gone to bed Ds has taken his meatonin so will be asleep soon but they are 'talking' until he fallls asleep.
It is just so amazing to see him doing these normal things that other kids already have the hang of,it gives me a little glimpse of hope for the future.
Now I'm just dreading him asking to stay at the little boys house next, though i have spoke to his mum and told her to body swerve the issue as DS really couldnt manage it.

VERY PROUD MUMMY!!
