LA are stalling mediation. What do I do??

Long story short, the LA have been giving me the run around since last Sept. No special school place, crappy ehcp that I never signed off on or officially received, refusal to my request that they do an early ehcp review.

I recently got a no for the special school placed and requested mediation regarding this and the ehcp. There was a timeframe to appeal within but opting for mediation extended this. However the LA are faffing about and being "hard to pin down" and get a date set for the mediation, so yet again we are waiting and living in limbo while the LA ignore me and ignore my son's needs.

I don't know what to do! Can I skip to tribunal?? I've NO IDEA. I also sent in a formal complaint and have heard nothing back from that either. Keep looking on the ipsea website for a call back appointment but every time I look they're all booked

You can ask for mediation certificate and go to tribunal. Mediation is a waste of time anyway.

hennaoj I've just had a call from mediation lady and she did thankfully give me that option, and I think I am going to take it. Since I decided to try mediation I've heard from other local families who've done mediation with our LA and none of them have a positive story to tell.

Thanks for replying.

It's only a legal requirement to consider mediation, not to actually go through with it.

I considered mediation for all of a nano second. Our LA would just have used it as another delaying tactic. Angry
