Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) at school

My DC is struggling at their special needs school. The school have sent an email implying they are using a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) strategy. Having done a little research it seems as if the school are not implementing this properly. Has anyone had their child's school use this either successfully or unsuccessfully? What were the key factors to success or failure? DC is severely dyslexic, poor working memory processing which impacts sequencing. They also struggle a lot with friendships and unwritten rules, although no autistic diagnosis. Many thanks for any feedback.
