wheelchairs being hot

does any 1 find there wheelchair seats get hot on there bums at all any advice at all and is the seats on wheelchairs all the same material thanks

It din't occur to me this would happen. I must check ds2 next time we go out. No help to you I know, but thanks for the tip.

try a lambskin perhaps? It absorbs a lot and pads the bottom out well...

thanks for that yes im finding my sons is getting hot when he first gets in it and its been left in the sun.Aslo advice on the maclaren major buggys thinking of using 1 for on holiday ( not as bulky as a wheelchair)is there several models to choose from as the basic ones can get uncomfortable being in there along time have they inproved and do they recline now.but not sure if he would want to use it hes a small 9 yr old but dont know whether hed look at it being in a pushchair any thoughts would be appreciated

We are taking a wheelchair rather than a major! They don't recline. For us a wheelchair is better, as with the major we had to have additional seating inserts to support ds2, which meant 3 extra bits of puuting on and taking off each time we folded it away. The wheelchair is opened, contoured cushion plopped in and it's ready. It's heavier, but a lot simpler for us. And it fits into the car boot easier.

pillowcase with newspaper inside for padding can stop heat .
