What do you get EHCP?

Might sound like a silly question but I don’t feel like I’ve ever had a straight answer
I’m waiting for LA to agree to assess but I’m watching my 11 year old (year 7) shut down before my eyes - my heart wants to Home ed
So if I don’t want EHCP for education what else is in it that we could use?
For example I want my son to do equine therapy but I don’t think I’ll be able to afford it if out of work to Home ed, he needs an OT assessment and possibly therapy (ironically to recover from school)
Can I get that through EHCP even if he is home ed?

It is possible to go down the personal budget route, which I have no first hand experience of personally, but a lad who was at DS's special school left and his parents have a budget through his EHCP to home school him. However, I know for a fact they really had to fight for it. Try looking at www.ipsea.or.uk for a bit more info

Thank you, I posted and then disappeared to try and sort out lives out!
We’ve just agreed flexi school so he’ll be part time which may help and keeps me in work for now
I’m still unsure about what the plan will give us though in terms of tangible benefits

I'm talking in terms of qualitative measurement.
